Individual Therapy
How Do We Get There?
To build connections, we will work with you on understanding yourself and your past, which will help you to process your barriers to healing. Those barriers can include mental health disorders, such as anxiety or depression, but also difficult life circumstances like a really stressful job or the loss of someone you love. We are here to help you move forward and thrive.
Goals of Therapy
Life hardly ever follows a straight path. Sometimes, you face unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes you decide to change direction. The goal of therapy is to help you navigate these experiences by optimizing the connection to yourself, to others, and to a meaningful, spiritual life (spirituality looks different for everyone). As we help you to build and strengthen these connections, you will feel calmer and more balanced. You will be able to deal with the challenges of life much better, living consciously and intentionally.
Why Should I Go to Therapy?
There are many answers to this question, and the answers will be different for everyone. But, no matter how big or small what you’re facing is, individual psychotherapy can help you understand past experiences and how they impact your present. By increasing your understanding of who you are and how you work, you can be more intentional in how you show up in life and build your future.

Why Are Connections so Important?
We have mentioned connections a lot. But why are they so important?
As humans, we are built for connections. Our brains are hardwired to feel safe and secure when we are in relationships with others. But, this also means that when we feel isolated and alone, our stress levels increase, and we feel scared. Despite this fundamental need for connections and an ever smaller world, we are more disconnected than we have ever been before. We long for community but struggle to find it in our fast-paced lives.
Therefore, it's essential that we first learn to connect with ourselves: our bodies, minds, emotions, and spirits. Prioritizing health and well-being is a critical starting point to understanding who we are, what’s important to us, and what we need to live a fulfilling life. As we learn these things about ourselves, we start to live more consciously and can engage with the world around us intentionally. For instance, rather than doom scrolling social media and feeling more isolated, we can reach out to a friend to grab a coffee or dinner and care for ourselves.
An essential part of learning how to connect with ourselves is to practice self-compassion. Yes, you deserve compassion — we all do! As we apply self-compassion in our lives, we learn how to value ourselves as unique human beings with strengths and weaknesses that are worth loving. This helps us build self-worth that isn’t based on performance but rather on self-respect and compassion. Through this, we get the chance to develop empathy for those around us and set healthy boundaries that enable us to form meaningful and lasting connections.
Ready for Good News?
Counseling has proven effective for about 80% of people who pursued it!
While some of the above will sound exciting, some of it might also sound a little daunting. But, if you keep the 80% success rate in mind, you will see that your chances for a great and successful therapy experience are very high. A lot of this success depends on our therapeutic relationship. So, we will talk about what’s working and what’s not working, and ask you to help us measure the effectiveness of the therapeutic process using feedback-informed treatment. We will look at your goals and our relationship after every session to make sure we are on the right track to the best therapeutic outcome for you.
Key Areas We Will Focus On
There are four different forms of wellness we will be working on together. We will create a holistic, well-rounded treatment plan that will help you make progress in each of these areas.
Let’s start working on a plan for a happier, thriving you.
-
Improving your overall well-being and functioning through good sleep, exercise, and nutrition
-
Developing an understanding of your feelings and learning how to express them so you can respond rather than react to the challenges and uncomfortable things in life
-
Cultivating cognitive flexibility and practicing open-mindedness to learn and grow from your own experiences and those of others: stay curious!
-
Finding meaning and purpose in your life to enjoy the beauty and happiness within and around you

No Surprises Act | Good Faith Estimate
Cost transparency is really important to us. We want to ensure you’re aware of the cost of sessions with us and can make an informed decision about insurance vs. out-of-pocket payments.
Under the No Surprises Act, out-of-network providers are required to give their clients who don’t have insurance or opt to pay out-of-pocket an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. Starting in 2022, we will provide you with a written Good Faith Estimate before your first session with us.
For questions or more information about your right to receive a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
