Caretaker Coaching
Is someone you love struggling with mental health issues or substance abuse, such as:
Anxiety disorder
Bipolar disorder
Depression
Eating disorder
Excessively aggressive behavior
Personality disorder
Post-traumatic stress disorder
Substance use disorder (alcoholism or drug addiction)
It can be extremely difficult to figure out if someone you love needs treatment and how to support them while not neglecting your own needs.
We know how overwhelming this can feel, which is why we are here to help you navigate these challenges.
Why Should I Pursue Caretaker/Parent Coaching?
It is hard to watch someone you love suffer. When they experience anxiety or depression or have a substance use disorder, it can leave you feeling helpless. You might not know how to deal with your own emotions and are unsure how best to support those you love.
Coaching with a therapist can be really beneficial. We can help you assess your situation from an objective, professionally informed point of view, focusing on how you can support the ones you love and yourself. We can help you process your emotions, get you and other family members in a room together to talk things through, and determine together with you what next steps you should take.
We can also help you find answers to some of these common questions:
How can you love and support someone without enabling them?
How can you convince someone to seek treatment?
How do you talk to each other without fighting?
How do you take care of yourself while someone you love is struggling?
